Italian cuisine
Italian cuisine is very varied depending on the region. It has its roots in a Mediterranean diet of sun-drenched vegetables or olive oil. Italy is known for its typical cheeses: burrata, mozzarella, ricotta but also Parmigiano.
Very appreciated after a warm walk through the streets of typical villages, gelato, Italian ice cream can be made with milk, cream and different flavours.
Not to be missed at breakfast or after a good meal, it can be made into ristretto, elongated or lungo coffee. It is considered one of the best in the world thanks to the use of "Italian coffee maker" or "piston".
Pizza is another Italian specialty. Coming from Naples, it can be adapted according to taste thanks to different toppings.
You can enjoy pasta with arrabiata, tomato or bolognese pasta accompanied by a glass of Spritz or a local Italian wine.
Art and culture
Birthplace of the painter Leonardo da Vinci, Italy is a country where art is omnipresent.
Many vestiges of Ancient Rome are present that you can visit or discover during a visit to museums.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historic centres of Naples, Pienza and Florence are within walking distance. Italy is a strong member of the Catholic Church, and there are many churches and cathedrals to discover: the cathedral of Palermo, the church of Leonardo da Vinci.
