Urho Kekkonen National Park

Ideal for trekking

The Urho Kekkonen National Park is located in the northeast of Finland, the heart of Lapland. It is the second largest national park in the country and stretches over 2500 km². It remains one of the last true wildernesses in Europe. In your motorhome you can go on an unforgettable Scandinavian adventure with family or friends.

The park is characterized by swamps and mountains covered with thick tundra and dense forests that are home to a large number of animals, including elk, foxes, otters, bears and wolves. Many birds also inhabit this wilderness, such as the golden eagle, buzzards, cranes and owls. The park strives to keep this nature as pristine as possible and human passage within it is minimal. This is one of the best regions for trekking. You can also visit the gold mining village of Kültakylä.
