Exceptional scenery

The Yorkshire National Park extends over the northern part of the country. It was created in 1954 and covers more than 1700 square km of land characterized by numerous hills and valleys formed by the passage of rivers. There are more than twenty deep valleys/dales. The park is accessible by motorhome and will allow you to camp in complete nature surrounded by unique scenery.

The characteristic landscape of the park is that of sheep pastures enclosed by stone walls and surrounded by moorland. this is a paradise for amatuer and more experienced hikers. There are planty of trails that offer a special atmosphere in this protected natural area. Put your walking shoes on and follow one of the four National Trails. The park is also known for its three peaks: Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent peak, between 600 and 700 metres high.

There is also a large network of limestone caves in this park. They attract many professional cavers but some are open to visitors for an unusual experience. There are numerous natural rock formations that were formed over thousands of years. The limestone paths of Malham Cove, Hardraw Force waterfalls, Aysgarth Falls, Cautley Spout and Brimham Rocks are also impressive sites.

Don't miss the historical sites, including the impressive castles. Aboard your motorhome you are likely to pass a few by chance, but make sure to visit Ripley Castle, Skipton Castle and Bolton Castle!
