Central Kalahari Game Reserve

The wild Kalahari

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is situated in an immense, wild region of Botswana. The park covers 52 000 km, making it the largest protected area in Africa and the second largest reserve in the world.

The park has a very rich fauna and a few individuals still living a traditional San lifestyle based on hunting and gathering. Travelling through this huge reserve is an extraordinary adventure. This wildlife sanctuary sheltering wildebeest, zebra and eland will teach you a complete independence (water, food, fuel ...) on your 4x4 journey. Khutse Reserve is more accessible and only extends over 2500 km² while still containing many natural wonders. The surrounding landscapes are arid and the mineralized water that falls during the rainy season enriches the grass and leaves giving much needed sustinence to animals such as giraffe, eland and other buck. This concentration of prey attracts predators like lions, cheetahs and leopards.
