Moremi Wildlife Reserve

One of the most beautiful reserves in Southern Africa

The Moremi Wildlife Reserve lies in the north of the country and stretches over 3000 km². it is an amazing and exceptional natural site. The reserve was created in 1960 and the fauna is increasingly threatened by hunting.

Moremi Wildlife Reserve is home to a rich fauna and flora, but also a very special place, the Okavango Delta. The Okavango River is 1300 km long with its source in the heart of the Kalahari Desert. The water of the river at the delta evaporates and is absorbed by the desert sand which creates a maze of lagoons, channels and islands that appear and disappear depending on the season and flow of the river. There are many animals in the reserve, such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, kudu, buffalo, flamingos and other birds. This region is known for its animal and plant diversity, as well as for its natural beauty. It remains a fragile area, highly threatened by population pressures and economic development. The ideal way to explore the area is by 4x4.
