The Isle of Skye

Grand and enchanting

The Isle of Skye, an enchanting wilderness, is the most northerly island of Scotland and the largest of the Inner Hebrides. It is accessible by motorhome. Explore its Highland characteristics with family or friends for an unforgettable holiday.

You will be enchanted by this island's magical landscapes and its great legends still told today. The great variations in climate on the island often give a mystical atmosphere with thick mist penetrated little by little by the rays of the sun or a romantic atmosphere with rainfall broken by sparkling sun beams. The island is a perfect combination of sea and mountains, and the Cuillin Hills have inspired many poets and writers.

Many activities for children and adults are possible on the island, icluding water sports and hiking. Don't miss the famous Dunvegan Castle overlooking Loch Dunvegan, home of the McLeod Clan. Portree is the main town and is a unique and colorful port. Neist Point offers splendid panoramic views of the suroounding peaks and cliffs. The hiking trail, Old Man of Storr, also offers lovely scenery, as does the Glenfinnan Viaduct in Fort Williams. It is surrounded dry mountains and sparkling lakes and is also known as the famous bridge to Hogwarts in the Harry Potter saga.
