Fuel

Petrol and service stations in Canada

In general fuel is much less expensive (on average two times cheaper) in Canada than in Europe. But the price can change quickly. More rural service stations tend to be more expensive than those in the cities. Also, fill up with fuel at the beginning of the week as from Thursday the prices increase.

Always check the total fuel tank capacity of your vehicle before departing on a long journey, as often the service stations are quite far apart.

As of July 3rd 2020, the average world gasoline price is US$1.247/litre and the average cost of diesel is US$1.059/litre. These prices are only an average. The price therefore varies greatly over time and from one region to another!

Favour rural stations which will be cheaper than in the city.

You can consult the prices on the Global Petrol Prices website

Always check the fuel level of your vehicle before starting a long journey, as gas stations are often quite far away.
