Fuel in the USA

Unleaded gasoline or diesel

Here are some tips regarding fuel, diesel and service stations in the USA.

Fuel and service stations in the USA

Fuel is measured by the gallon. 1 gallon = 3.785 litres.

In general fuel is much less expensive in the USA than in Europe. But the price can change quickly. More rural service stations tend to be less expensive than those in cities. Always check the total fuel tank capacity of your vehicle before departing on a long journey, as often the service stations are further apart in rural and wilderness areas.

As of May, 17th, 2021 the average price of unleaded gasoline in the USA was US$0.65/liter and US$0.729/liter for diesel.
