Monument Valley can really be defined as 'The Old West'. Indeed, many American films have been shot on this Native American soil covered in red rock. This park has become legendary partly thanks to Stagecoach, a film directed by John Ford in the area. Monument Valley is inhabited by the Native American tribes of the Navajo poeple, who make their livelihood by sheep farming, tourism and the sale of crafts. If you would like to meet locals, visit the Blue Coffee Pot or the Golden Stand in Kayenta.

You can easily reach Monument Valley in your motorhome via Highway 163, just 320 miles from Albuquerque and 400 miles from Las Vegas. Enjoy a most extraordinary scenery and natural phenomena that are the result of wind and water erosion in this tribal park. Admire the famous rocks like Mittens & Merrick Butte, John Ford's Point and North Window. Take a horseback ride accompanied by a Navajo guide or go for a hike of 3.2 miles to the beginning of the Valley Drive and admire the sunset reflecting off the red rocks.
