If you take this route from the east you will cross Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. If you take it from the west you will cross Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana. Either way the journey is full of wildlife sanctuaries, historic sites, agricultural lands and forests.

Your motorhome journey starts from Minneapolis. The twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul are renowned for their art culture. There are many good theatres, dance companies and concert halls. Visit the Walker Art Center or the Minnesota Museum of American Art. You can also explore St Paul's Cathedral. Take a stop in St. Louis from where you can enjoy lovely views of the river. Don't miss Gateway Arch and stroll through the downtown St Louis.

As you continue along the river you will see that the American roads are well adapted to motorhomes and offer easy driving conditions. In addition, you will have no difficulties finding campsites.

Your next step will be Memphis, well known thanks to Elvis Presley and the Graceland Mansion. Take the opportunity to visit the beautiful, historic homes of the "Victorian Village" on Adams Avenue. The last step of your journey will be New Orleans where the Mississippi River empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy a walk around the historic French Quarter and visit St Louis Cathedral.
