Fuel

Petrol and diesel

CampingCar-Online/Ramble Campervans can provide you with all the necessary information regarding fuel and service stations in New Zealand.

Petrol and diesel are the two types of fuel in New Zealand. At the service stations the price difference is clearly visible with diesel being much cheaper. Most service stations offer unleaded 91, 96 and diesel. Note that the prices are generally higher on the South Island.

As of July 3, 2020 the average price of petrol in New Zealand is US$1.652/liter  and the average cost of diesel is US$1.017/liter

These prices are only an average. The price therefore varies greatly over time and from one region to another! You can consult them on the Global Petrol Prices website.

Always check the fuel level of your vehicle before starting a long journey, as petrol stations are often quite far away.
