Experience the wonders of New Zealand and the Maori culture. CampingCar-Online/Ramble Campervans can offer you an itinerary that will take you around most of the country.

The best of New Zealand starts in Christchurch once you have picked up your motorhome. Before hitting the road, we suggest you spend the day there vising the most British city in the southern hemisphere. You will easily find campsites to stay at for the night or you can do some 'wild' camping outside of designated camping areas. Afterwards head down the Pacific coastline to Dunedin.

You will discover the English and Scottish heritage of Dunedin and Christchurch and enjoy their Victorian and Edwardian architecture. Along the way you can stop at Oamaru, known for its white limestone, and Moeraki with its huge rock formations. Continue to Dunedin Peninsula with its albatross colonies, penguins and seals.

Afterwards take the road west via the Otago region, specializing in sheep farming, before joining Te Anau, the gateway to one of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand, Fiordland. In this huge park you can follow one of the most famous hiking trails in New Zealand and enjoy the nature.

Next, head towards Milford Sound for a 2h30min cruise. This famous fjord has spectacular waterfalls. Return to Te Anau and head to Queenstow for the night. You can then head towards Haast Pass to arrive on the West Coast. Go to Fox Glacier before the village of Franz Josef and take a guided hike. Drive northward towards Ross, where two museums trace the history of the gold rush. Then head to Hokitika, the Jade capital. Jade is the sacred stone of the Maori people. We suggest you make a stop at Punakaiki to see the spectacular "Pancake Rocks". You can walk inland towards Nelson, famous for its craft shops.

Next, take the road towards the vineyards and orchards of Picton. Take a ferry to cross the extraordinary landscapes of Marlborough Sound to arrive at Wellington. Once in Wellington, head north to explore the magnificent volcanoes of Tongariro National Park. Then follow on in the direction of Taupo along the banks of the largest lake in the country before reaching Rotorua and its nature reserves. You will see the acid, coloured lakes and the famous geysers. Stay in one of the campsites in Rotorua.

To reach Auckland you can choose either the Coromandel Peninsula beaches and the Bay of Plenty or Waikato's green pastures and the amzing Waitomo caves.
