The marine life in New Zealand is abundant. The fauna is unspoilt and is home to a number of unique marine species. In your motorhome you can explore the South Island while observing and admiring the impressive marine life.

Aboard your motorhome with family or friends you can discover the abundant and impressive New Zealand marine life. New Zealand has about 34 marine reserves.

Explore the province of Marlborough which extends to Kaikoura and is full of wonderful marine areas. From Christchurch you can easily reach the Kaikoura Peninsula, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the New Zealand mountains, and watch the whales. Excursions by boat or air can be organized to better observe the wildlife. Off the beaches you can watch dolphins and even swim with them. There are different species of dolphins in New Zealand. You will probably have the chance to see the great dolphin with a length of 3 metres or the smallest and rarest dolphin only found in this region of the globe, the Hector dolphin.

Near Akaroa and Oamaru seals and blue penguins await you. You can take a sea excursions by boat to see Hector dolphins, seals and blue penguins basking on the rocks. Diving and snorkelling will offer you an amazing and unforgettable underwater experience.
