Vancouver Island

The best of western Canada by motorhome

Explore Vancouver Island by motorhome and enjoy the mountains, forests, lakes and fjords. This island is full of treasures and wine and food enthusiasts will enjoy this trip, as will beach and nature lovers, and those looking for outdoor activities.

The Tasawwassen-Schwartz Bay Ferry is the best way to reach Victoria quickly and the passage takes about 2 hours. We strongly recommend booking your ferry crossing online in advance.

Goldstream Provincial Park is 20 km from Victoria. Stop and relax around a campfire to reflect on the day's activities. We advise booking your campsite here in advance, especially in July and August. There is a campsite in the park called Goldstream Campground. Expect the unexpected on the road heading north towards Nanaimo. There is such a variety of landscapes at every turn of the road with forests and spectacular views of the Gulf Islands that are scattered around the Georgia Strait. The Bamberton Provincial Park is an interesting stop for scenic break on your way to the Trans Canada Highway.

Just north of Nanaimo, you'll be on the way towards Tofino, passing through the Port Albeni. Fancy a break? Stop at Little Qualicum Falls, McMillan or Sproat Lake Provincial Park.

Take the Oceanside Route that follows the coastline of the Nanoose Bay area. You can stop and enjoy the attractions of Parksville and Qualicum Beach and the lighthouse communities of Qualicum Bay, Bowser and Deep Bay. Continue along the Oceanside Route through the charming communities of Fanny Bay, Buckley Bay and Union Bay. Parks, beaches, golf courses, and dozens of attractions are located along the way, making it one of the island's most popular circuits.
