Avery Island

The Jungle Gardens, on Avery island near the Gulf of Mexico, are characterized by diverse flora set in botanical gardens. There is also a large flock of migratory egrets, which returns to a particular part of the island every spring, making it known as 'Bird City'. Between azaleas and irises you will also find exotic plants and a unique Chinese garden.

Natchez

Natchez was the principal export port of the wealthy cotton and sugar planters of southern USA. This is a different America to the rest with a unique landscape including many stately homes and mansions surrounded by fields of flowers and olive groves. The only thing missing is a steamboat on the Mississippi!

Natchitoches

The charm of Natchitoches lies in the Red River running along it and and its old colonial houses. Stroll along the cobbled streets to admire the beauty of the city, which was the first European settlement in Louisiana. Visit Melrose Plantation, which bears witness to the history of slavery on the sugar and cotton plantations in southern USA.

Savannah

In Georgia, the seaside city of Savannah retains its authentic 'Old South' atmosphere with its grand, old houses surrounded by leafy trees, delicious sea food and paddle boats. Savannah's downtown area is very charming and lively.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

This breathtaking park is set in the heart of the Appalaches mountains. The park has many visitors who come to admire the more than 1,000 species of flowers, ancient trees and the magical mountain scenery. The Blue Ridge Parkway road joins the park to the Shenandoah National Park offering a spectacular route with magnificent views over valleys bathed in a multitude of colours.
