Byron Bay - New South Wales

The most eastern town in Australia.

Byron Bay has been a popular seaside resort since the 1960s and is the most eastern town in the country. It is a real landmark for surfers and beach lovers. Take a walk in the tropical, coastal forests or discover the region's food specialities. There is so much to do in Byron Bay that you certainly won't be bored, and the motorhome is the perfect way to explore this area.

There are many different beaches in Byron Bay with something for everyone! There are busy beaches with a chic, bohemian atmosphere and there are more remote, tranquil beaches. All the beaches are known for their beauty and their closeness to nature. The Wategos beaches and Main Beach are famous surfing spots and have been for years and years.

It is also possible to walk along the coastal paths surrounded by unique vegetation and forests. You can walk around Cape Byron or along the Rain Forest Way. The region often hosts cultural events such as the Byron Bay Bluefest in March, just 10 km north of Byron Bay. This festival is well known and attracts many musicians and artists, some very famous, from all over the world.
